What my clients have to say about working with me.

She was cheerful and calming in what was probably the biggest transaction I will ever make in my life. She is generous and helpful beyond reasonable expectation. She is a good and decent human being who truly puts her client first. In a field of five stars, I give her ten. If I could think of other ways to describe how utterly incredible she is, I would fill up this page with praise and gratitude. Please share this in every forum you can think of. If it reaches one person who is about to buy or sell real estate and convinces that person to contact Shelly, I will feel smug about doing that person a favor."

She understood what we were looking for, and when we were ready to jump on our home purchase, she worked quickly with the seller's agent to put in a competitive offer for us to secure the deal with the best terms. As a first-time buyer myself, I'm so glad we had her to walk us through every step so we went into the process (and during the process) informed. If we ever find ourselves looking for another home in Austin, we'll absolutely work with Shelly!"

"It is rare to find someone whose natural personality and talents fit their job description, but that is Shelly Hemingson. Shelly is an advocate of historic homes, passionate about interior design, and above all has a natural gift of connecting with new people easily! When my mom decided she was ready to sell her home, I was confident that Shelly would be the right person to get the job done successfully. What makes Shelly a cut above all the rest? Not only is she organized and knowledgeable but she really cares about the quality of her work. From the initial consultation, Shelly came prepared and had done her homework about what it was going to take to sell this house. She provided us with a complete and thorough evaluation of the market and explained the current trends and comps. Also, knowing that selling a house can be an emotional experience, Shelly was very careful not to rush through the process and patiently listened to my mom's concerns and answered each question she had to the best of her ability. Even while on vacation, Shelly was accessible through e-mail and stayed in touch with my mom knowing that important decisions needed to be made regardless. Shelly did a great job pricing the home and also getting it ready for an open house. She went the extra mile, and helped clean and straighten up because she takes pride in representing the homeowner. She even baked cookies to give the house a nice aroma and feeling of home as people walked through on the first day, so creative and unique! She is also highly capable of handling tough negotiations and stays calm through the process. She was able to be a great sounding board and resource during some difficult moments as my mom needed to make the best decision that was right for her. I was impressed with her ability to negotiate and advocate on our behalf. You feel like Shelly is in your corner, which is important in choosing your agent. I highly recommend Shelly Hemingson; if you hire her you won't be disappointed!"

Maybe it wasn't complicated for her but seemed so to me (we wanted to list as late as possible to be able to stay in our Austin house until the new build was completed). And, like an emotional home seller, I wanted buyers who would live here and love the house, instead of a buyer that would scrape and refill, or buy for rental property. She made this happen for us; quick sale, good buyers and a leaseback agreement with them so that we can move directly from here to our new house. Also, a closing date that is allowing us to buy the new home with the proceeds, avoiding having to secure a mortgage in the interim time. Shelly was always available for questions and concerns, all the while being engaging and cheerful. We appreciated her expertise and would recommend Shelly highly to another potential client."

"Shelly was absolutely top-shelf. We met Shelly over a year ago when we’re started getting serious about moving to Austin. We made it very clear that we were not ready to transact but wanted to learn. She understood and took a flyer on us. Throughout the process, she was giving of her time and advice, while I was always trying to be mindful of both. When we finally arrived, she was always responsive and pretty much always available, despite our change in strategy from picking a location to letting a given house define our geography. Along the way, this took us north, south, and west, and Shelly accommodated us. When she couldn’t attend showings for reasons of logistics, she found someone else to help us. When it came to the house we bought, Shelly did a very good job of measuring the individual situation and wrote a contract that included the sellers to pay for many of the closing costs."
